Successful with my 3rd House Sit
| Posted on May 3, 2017 at 7:40 AM |
During the week I met up with Jordy and his owner at a beautiful property overlooking a lake in Ocean Grove. I fell in love with Jordy straight away who was very happy for me to rub his tummy. Jordy's mum is a lovely lady who I connected with straight away. I will be keeping Jordy company and looking after his house from mid August to late September.
Sadly Jordy's dad got sick so they where not able to travel so I did not get to spend time with Jordy at his home.
Ombre & Ruby

So its dads Birthday what do you want to do
Ruby bouncing up down "Get him a balloon please please please"
Ok we will get him a balloon. "Yay" "Woof"
Now sit quietly while a take photo. No Ruby you cannot bite it.
Ombre "I am not going to look at it"
Lots of hugs and pats.
So first night, hmmm sleeping arrangements. Well lets see what happens.
Ok bedtime. Ruby jumped up on to the bed did a few circles then settled down. She did not move all night.
Ombre stood at the edge of the bed looking at me.
Ok Ombre are you going to hop in.
He came around and flicked the doona up with his nose and pushed in under the doona at the end of the bed and settled down.
It was a cold night and Ombre snuggled in to my legs keeping me warm.
Ok guys "enough" I know its cold but I am getting squished. Ombre hopped out of bed and looked at me then hopped in down the end of the bed on Ruby's side. yay I have a whole side of the bed to myself.
Ruby placed her head on the side on my lap as I patted her. Then one front foot came up onto my lap, then a back foot was raised and was making its way up on my lap. OH NO Ruby you are not going to climb onto my lap, You are bigger than me.
I placed the two bowls down and both dogs sat and waited until told they could eat.
The same as the previous few days I placed the bowls down both dogs waited until told they could eat. This time though Ruby looked at her bowl then at Ombre's back at her bowl and then flew at Ombre they fought for a few moments as I headed for the bucket of water but they stopped before I got it.
Every night I sit on the couch with the dogs sleeping at my feet occassionally they get up and come for pats and cuddles.
2nd House Sit which will actually be my first.

During the week I met up with a lovely couple and a gorgeous golden retriever by the name of Minty.
I fell in love with Minty straight away, after lots of cuddles Minty lay down at my feet while Minty's owners and I chatted about all sorts of things.
Not long after leaving I got a text to say they would love me to house sit but most importantly look after Minty.
I am very excited as this will be my first house sit.

Miles

Back on the road and heading south to spend Christmas with family.
Have loved every bit of my travels but it will be so wonderful to be back with family and friends for a bit over a month.
My last week has been spent looking after a gorgeous British Blue cat called Miles. He loves to be brushed and patted. Miles lives in a comfortable home close to the centre of Wollongong on the free bus route which is very regular every 10min during the week or 20min on weekend. There is talk about whether this will continue as free, hopefully it does. I jumped on board just out the front and hopped off at several stops along the way. Some of the places it goes past are the hospital, city centre, Woolworths, the park and lighthouse, the pool, the beaches, Aldi, Officeworks, fast food, the Botanic Gardens and the University. It has been a great week.
